Thursday Morning Sermon - IYC 2024

JUST AS I AM - Sin left in a life, will only fester and get worse. Today at International Youth Conference, Powerhouse Kidz Pastor Jonathan Steele reads Isaiah 61:1-3 teaching on the fulfillment of this scripture and the hope that comes through repentance and looking to Jesus Christ for salvation. Isaiah was writing to the Northern Kingdom of Israel who never had a righteous king. Here, Israel had been conquered and their land had been demolished, the people were now captive. Our youth today are held captive with anxiety, depression, addictions, and suicidal thoughts. The only freedom from our bondages and hopelessness is to look to Jesus Christ as our only answer. Because of Christ’s finished work at Calvary, the Spirit of the Lord goes out, looking for those who will only believe. He will heal our brokenness. He will bind all our wounds, and He will give liberty to the captives. He is freedom, and it belongs to us. He has made us free, and He who the Son has set free is free indeed
